This one day course is a designed for all law enforcement professionals from chief executive officer to first-line supervisors that evaluate employee performance.

What if we could take the angst out of conducting employee evaluations? This frustration is not only on the part of the evaluator, but also the employee receiving the evaluation. COURSE OVERALL LEARNING GOAL:

Objectives for the basic course are 1) to provide the fundamentals necessary to conduct a proper interview and interrogation, 2) to provide a structured frame of reference for those interviewers who have some experience but also may not have had any formal training in the area and 3) to improve the efficiency of all participants in obtraining the truth from suspects, witnesses and victims in a legally acceptable manner.

Objectives for the advanced course are 1) to provide additional tactics and techniques designed to obtain confessions from the deceptive suspect in more expedient manner, 2) to provide finesse tactics dealing with the psychology of interrogation to enhance the investigators ability to acquire confessions that might not have otherwise been obtained and 3) to provide a logical guideline that may be used to profile out any type of suspect for interrogation.

More than 300,000 professionals in the law enforcement and security fields have attended these programs since it they were first offered in 1974. The FBI-LEEDA Reflective Leadership Institute course represents the next level of leadership education for law enforcement professionals. This dynamic course focuses on learning to lead an inclusive culture within our law enforcement agencies. The goals of this 4½-day program include: creating a fair, unbiased, and inclusive police culture for the agency and community; effectively guide law enforcement agencies to realize the practical and moral value of cultural awareness and cultural intelligence; incorporate best practices for successfully navigating the complexities of our contemporary cultural with integrity; assemble concrete pathways for fair and unbiased leadership development of all employees in the agency; and, help create leaders with cultural wisdom and integrity as models for their internal communities and the public that they serve.

The RLI course focuses on leading an inclusive culture within our law enforcement agencies. The goals of the Reflective Leadership Institute are:

  • Create a fair, unbiased, and inclusive police culture for the agency and community.
  • Effectively guide the leaders of law enforcement agencies to realize the practical and moral value of cultural awareness and cultural intelligence.

This course is designed for law enforcement personnel who are responsible for deploying in the capacity as a SWAT Team Leader or as a supervisor who is responsible for the training and deployment of tactical teams. The focus of this training will be on pre-incident training, planning, organizing, and the tactical decision-making process used in the resolution of high-risk operations. Also included in the curriculum is an overview of SWAT training topics including selection and testing, training issues and liability, national SWAT standards and critical incident reviews. Practical applications will consist of scouting and planning warrants, small team planning, tactics used in the resolution of critical incidents, and the review of tactical incidents and videos. Attendees will participate in-group discussions, write operations orders, and develop training plans, plus critique and evaluate tactics and decisions based on a principle based SWAT decision-making process.

This training has been approved by Minnesota POST to cover 8 hours of the mandatory training. Components covered include Conflict Management and Mediation as well as Recognizing and Valuing Community Diversity and Cultural Differences to Include Implicit Bias training as set by POST. Components not covered are the Crisis Intervention and Mental Illness Crises portion of the mandate which is often covered by mental health professionals that provide training in those areas.

Who should attend: Sworn police officers from the rank of Chief of Police/Sheriff to police officers and deputies. This course is taught by active/retired chiefs of police. This is the training that is sweeping the nation with 1000’s of law enforcement professionals trained in the last years alone!

Nothing is as important to government services as the relationship between law enforcement and the public that is served. Recent inflammatory actions and news stories have had a severe impact and the perception of law enforcement. Agencies and individual employees must understand their role and that every action and statement that is made reflects on the profession as a whole. This training will focus not only on individual employee attitudes and beliefs, but also organizational concepts that either enhances trust or perpetuates a lack of trust with the communities that are served.
