This seminar is designed for: Law enforcement officers and supervisors responsible for case evaluation
and management, or for commanders who are planning or developing improved case management
processes to improve productivity. Additionally, this course will be valuable to senior investigators assigned
to small units or small agencies who are primarily responsible for managing investigations in an informal
leadership role. This training is appropriate for large or small agencies.
The objectives of this program are: addresses the administrative requirements for managing the
investigative processes; focuses on managing the operations of the investigative unit, and the evaluation of

COURSE OVERALL LEARNING GOAL:

Objectives for the basic course are 1) to provide the fundamentals necessary to conduct a proper interview and interrogation, 2) to provide a structured frame of reference for those interviewers who have some experience but also may not have had any formal training in the area and 3) to improve the efficiency of all participants in obtraining the truth from suspects, witnesses and victims in a legally acceptable manner.

Objectives for the advanced course are 1) to provide additional tactics and techniques designed to obtain confessions from the deceptive suspect in more expedient manner, 2) to provide finesse tactics dealing with the psychology of interrogation to enhance the investigators ability to acquire confessions that might not have otherwise been obtained and 3) to provide a logical guideline that may be used to profile out any type of suspect for interrogation.

The Supervisor Leadership Institute (SLI) is part one of the three-step leadership series that makes up the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy.

The FBI-LEEDA Supervisor Leadership Institute (SLI) is a foundational 4½-day course that helps prepare the next generation of police leaders for their critical first steps in police leadership. Supervisors and managers at higher levels will benefit from the topics covered in this course, appreciating how first line supervisors are critical to the success of the organization. To lead others, we must first know ourselves and SLI takes us on that part of the leadership journey. Among the modules covered in this course, students will find out how the DISC factors, Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance, can predict your behavior towards others in day-to-day interactions. The students will thoroughly examine the concepts of credibility, accountability and motivation, while becoming familiar with aspects of liability and discipline that are vital to leadership at all levels of the organization.
