The Command Leadership Institute (CLI) is part two of the three-step leadership series that makes up the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy.  The CLI is a dynamic and challenging program uniquely designed to prepare law enforcement leaders for command level positions.

The Command Leadership Institute provides real-life, contemporary, best-practice strategies and techniques for those who are already commanders or are aspiring to a command level assignment. CLI faculty members are passionate instructors who have executive level law enforcement and leadership experience.

CLI students will be engaged in such topics as: credibility, command discipline, liability, problem employees, and leading change within an organization.  The Command Leadership Institute is student-centered with a high degree of student involvement.

The cost of the Command Leadership Institute is $795.

The Supervisor Leadership Institute (SLI) is part one of the three-step leadership series that makes up the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy.  While targeting to first-line supervisors, the SLI course is suitable for all police leaders – sworn and civilian. SLI students will be engaged in such topics as credibility, discipline, liability, and leadership styles. They will complete a DISC leadership assessment.

FBI-LEEDA instructors are current or former command-level law enforcement leaders who have not only extensive leadership experience, but a passion for teaching.

The following topics are covered in the Supervisor Leadership Institute:

  • Defining leadership, generational effects of leadership, leadership as a lifestyle, leadership traits
  • Building credibility, organizational credibility
  • Four pillars of discipline, immunity, supervisor liability
  • Participants will complete a DISC assessment of their personal leadership style

The cost of the Supervisor Leadership Institute is $795.

The FBI-LEEDA Reflective Leadership Institute course represents the next level of leadership education for law enforcement professionals. This dynamic course focuses on learning to lead an inclusive culture within our law enforcement agencies. The goals of this 4½-day program include: creating a fair, unbiased, and inclusive police culture for the agency and community; effectively guide law enforcement agencies to realize the practical and moral value of cultural awareness and cultural intelligence; incorporate best practices for successfully navigating the complexities of our contemporary cultural with integrity; assemble concrete pathways for fair and unbiased leadership development of all employees in the agency; and, help create leaders with cultural wisdom and integrity as models for their internal communities and the public that they serve.

This course is designed for law enforcement personnel who are responsible for deploying in the capacity as a SWAT Team Leader or as a supervisor who is responsible for the training and deployment of tactical teams. The focus of this training will be on pre-incident training, planning, organizing, and the tactical decision-making process used in the resolution of high-risk operations. Also included in the curriculum is an overview of SWAT training topics including selection and testing, training issues and liability, national SWAT standards and critical incident reviews. Practical applications will consist of scouting and planning warrants, small team planning, tactics used in the resolution of critical incidents, and the review of tactical incidents and videos. Attendees will participate in-group discussions, write operations orders, and develop training plans, plus critique and evaluate tactics and decisions based on a principle based SWAT decision-making process.
