The Command Leadership Institute (CLI) is part two of the three-step leadership series that makes up the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy.  The CLI is a dynamic and challenging program uniquely designed to prepare law enforcement leaders for command level positions.

The Command Leadership Institute provides real-life, contemporary, best-practice strategies and techniques for those who are already commanders or are aspiring to a command level assignment. CLI faculty members are passionate instructors who have executive level law enforcement and leadership experience.

CLI students will be engaged in such topics as: credibility, command discipline, liability, problem employees, and leading change within an organization.  The Command Leadership Institute is student-centered with a high degree of student involvement.

The cost of the Command Leadership Institute is $795.

FBI-LEEDA will send you a tuition invoice six-weeks prior to the start date of the class. To make special payment arrangements prior to being invoiced please email Finance at finance@fbileeda.org.

  • The registration fee includes the cost of the training and course materials; the fee does not include meals or travel expenses.
  • Sworn and professional law enforcement staff are welcome to all FBI-LEEDA classes.  You do not have to be a member to attend a class.
  • Each student must register for classes under their own Username and Account.
  • There are no prerequisites for this course; Trilogy courses can be taken in any order.
  • A workbook will be provided; laptop is optional.
  • Dress is business casual.
  • This course is 28 contact hours.

Problem employees can cause problems and wreak havoc within their organizations. Left unaddressed, problem employees are often allowed to infect the organization without providing value.

This upbeat and interactive course provides real world, successful examples on how to deal with different types of problem employees. Every government agency struggles with employees that are insubordinate, lazy, abuse sick time, display negative attitudes, and commit misconduct. Many executives and supervisors are ill equipped to deal with these problems other than with traditional discipline. Cancellation Policy:  FBI-LEEDA, Inc. makes every attempt to complete all of our scheduled courses, however, we may have to postpone or cancel any course because of insufficient paid enrollment, host agency request, or for any unforeseen circumstance, such as weather or illness. If FBI-LEEDA postpones or cancels a course, the student will have the option of enrolling in another course or be refunded the course registration fees in full. Re-enrollment must be done within 30 days from date of cancellation or a refund will be issued. FBI-LEEDA is not responsible for any travel costs or fees incurred by the student for any cancelled or postponed course. A student may request to be withdrawn from any course by emailing lweber@fbileeda.org  at least two business days prior to the start of the course. A $75 cancellation fee will be applied to refunds for student-initiated cancellations. Refunds will not be issued for no-shows. All registration fees must be paid in full prior to the start of the course.

COURSE OVERALL LEARNING GOAL:

This seminar is designed for both civilian/sworn personnel with custodial duties and those responsible for the management of these functions including supervisors and executives. Agency size often impacts involved storage variables – presented materials can identify employable options to preserve evidence integrity from unwarranted courtroom challenges.
These often out of sight – out of mind minutia level duties, if neglected have insidious damage potentials. Criminal prosecution efforts combined with an agency’s public reputation and simultaneously the careers of its Chief/Sheriff downwards to assigned custodians have repeatedly been irreparably damaged for failing to continuously and appropriately manage this assignment.
Systematic evidence storage duties are often assigned with little or no functional training. The involved transaction procedures require efforts uncommon to other business type storage facilities. This one-day best practice course is designed for managing a professional evidence storage operation.

Your presenter: R.P. “Rusty” Sullivan on-going 40 year law enforcement sworn and civilian career continues to build upon 20 years of accumulated full-time forensic practitioner/supervisor assignments. He has served as the President and Chairman of the Board of the Illinois Division of the International Association for Identification. He has over 18 years of presenting in this field and has provided annual state level forensic training conferences and workshop(s) and is a court recognized expert in the forensic sub-disciplines of Latent Fingerprint and Digital Data Recovery. Rusty has been requested and performed audits and reports on evidence rooms for agencies.
