COURSE SUMMARY:

The Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) is part three of the three-step leadership series that makes up the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy. This cutting-edge program is designed for executive-level law enforcement leaders and focuses on the challenges facing our profession today.  This highly-interactive program follows the FBI-LEEDA “Cops Talking to Cops” model of professional development. The Institute uses a wide-range of source materials and calls upon participants’ own professional experience to facilitate individual development and learning.

The following is a list of topics covered in the ELI program:

  • Trends in law enforcement, implications of the President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing
  • Public trust and legitimacy, bias and diversity
  • Employee wellness
  • Power, transformational leadership, social and emotional intelligence

The cost of the Executive Leadership Institute is $695.

Sworn and professional law enforcement staff are welcome to all FBI-LEEDA courses.  You do not have to be a member to attend a course. Each student must register for courses under their own Username and Account.

Cancellation Policy:  FBI-LEEDA, Inc. makes every attempt to complete all of our scheduled courses, however, we may have to postpone or cancel any course because of insufficient paid enrollment, host agency request, or for any unforeseen circumstance, such as weather or illness. If FBI-LEEDA postpones or cancels a course, the student will have the option of enrolling in another course or be refunded the course registration fees in full. Re-enrollment must be done within 30 days from date of cancellation or a refund will be issued. FBI-LEEDA is not responsible for any travel costs or fees incurred by the student for any cancelled or postponed course. A student may request to be withdrawn from any course by emailing lweber@fbileeda.org  at least two business days prior to the start of the course. A $75 cancellation fee will be applied to refunds for student-initiated cancellations. Refunds will not be issued for no-shows. All registration fees must be paid in full prior to the start of the course.

COURSE OVERALL LEARNING GOAL: 

This foundational course is designed for any personnel assigned to Patrol, Investigations and Fire Scene duties, empowering them to identify, collect and record commonly encountered evidence at crime scenes. Skill sets learned can increase your agency’s case clearance rates and successful courtroom prosecution efforts, while simultaneously building public service satisfaction levels and their confidence in investigative efforts.
Training encompasses on-scene application of forensic scientific principles and is presented in a concise-immersive style utilizing lecture and hands on exercises. Upon completion attendees will be able to perform basic crime scene processing and recovery efforts.

 

• Note: Individually owned flashlight use is encouraged during classroom practical exercises. Students can bring any other available camera or forensic equipment to build confidence-familiarity of use during the training. Practice materials will be provided at the training.

Your presenter: R.P. “Rusty” Sullivan’s on-going 40 year law enforcement sworn and civilian career continues to build upon 20 years of accumulated full-time forensic practitioner/supervisor assignments. He has served as the President and Chairman of the Board of the Illinois Division of the International Association for Identification. He has over 18 years of presenting in this field and has provided annual state level forensic training conferences and workshop(s) and is a court recognized expert in the forensic sub-disciplines of Latent Fingerprint and Digital Data Recovery. Rusty is currently working as a civilian Forensic Investigator (CSI)/Mobile Digital Device Analyst and has served on large and mid-sized agencies, having a multi-year assignment to Major Crimes Task Force evidence team as well as management, supervisory and front-line evidence experience in high profile and complex investigations.

COURSE SUMMARY:

The Supervisor Leadership Institute (SLI) is part one of the three-step leadership series that makes up the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy.  While targeting to first-line supervisors, the SLI course is suitable for all police leaders – sworn and civilian. SLI students will be engaged in such topics as credibility, discipline, liability, overcoming team dysfunction, and leadership styles.  They will complete a DISC leadership assessment.

FBI-LEEDA instructors are current or former command-level law enforcement leaders who have not only extensive leadership experience, but a passion for teaching.

The following topics are covered in the Supervisor Leadership Institute:

  • Defining leadership, generational effects of leadership, leadership as a lifestyle, leadership traits
  • Building credibility, organizational credibility
  • Four pillars of discipline, immunity, alleviating team dysfunction
  • Participants will complete a DISC assessment of their personal leadership style
