COURSE OVERALL LEARNING GOAL:
This training meets requirements to comply with Minnesota Statute 626.8469 Training in Crisis Response, Conflict Management and Cultural Diversity.
This training has been approved by Minnesota POST to cover 8 hours of the mandatory training. Components covered include Conflict Management and Mediation as well as Recognizing and Valuing Community Diversity and Cultural Differences to Include Implicit Bias training as set by POST. Components not covered are the Crisis Intervention and Mental Illness Crises portion of the mandate which is often covered by mental health professionals that provide training in those areas.
Who should attend: Sworn police officers from the rank of Chief of Police/Sheriff to police officers and deputies. This course is taught by active/retired chiefs of police. This is the training that is sweeping the nation with 1000’s of law enforcement professionals trained in the last years alone!
Nothing is as important to government services as the relationship between law enforcement and the public that is served. Recent inflammatory actions and news stories have had a severe impact and the perception of law enforcement. Agencies and individual employees must understand their role and that every action and statement that is made reflects on the profession as a whole. COURSE OVERALL LEARNING GOAL:
This seminar is designed for both civilian/sworn personnel with custodial duties and those responsible for the management of these functions including supervisors and executives. Agency size often impacts involved storage variables – presented materials can identify employable options to preserve evidence integrity from unwarranted courtroom challenges.
These often out of sight – out of mind minutia level duties, if neglected have insidious damage potentials. Criminal prosecution efforts combined with an agency’s public reputation and simultaneously the careers of its Chief/Sheriff downwards to assigned custodians have repeatedly been irreparably damaged for failing to continuously and appropriately manage this assignment.
Systematic evidence storage duties are often assigned with little or no functional training. The involved transaction procedures require efforts uncommon to other business type storage facilities. This one-day best practice course is designed for managing a professional evidence storage operation.

This course will instruct officers on the difference between alcohol and drug impaired drivers; how they are detected and what can be expected. Officers will learn the observable signs of seven major drug categories, medical conditions that mimic drug influence, and what they will see when they encounter drivers under the influence of specific drugs. This course is a prerequisite for those attending DRE School.

COURSE SUMMARY:
The Supervisor Leadership Institute (SLI) is part one of the three-step leadership series that makes up the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy. While targeting to first-line supervisors, the SLI course is suitable for all police leaders – sworn and civilian. SLI students will be engaged in such topics as credibility, discipline, liability, overcoming team dysfunction, and leadership styles. They will complete a DISC leadership assessment.
FBI-LEEDA instructors are current or former command-level law enforcement leaders who have not only extensive leadership experience, but a passion for teaching.
The following topics are covered in the Supervisor Leadership Institute:
- Defining leadership, generational effects of leadership, leadership as a lifestyle, leadership traits
- Building credibility, organizational credibility
- Four pillars of discipline, immunity, alleviating team dysfunction
- Participants will complete a DISC assessment of their personal leadership style
The cost of the Supervisor Leadership Institute is $695.
Sworn and professional law enforcement staff are welcome to all FBI-LEEDA courses. You do not have to be a member to attend a course. Each student must register for courses under their own Username and Account.
